Mahmud student Zuhra Nadtha participates in the International Climate and Democracy Conference

Fatima Zuhra Nadtha, a Grade 11 student at Kalmunai Mahmud Girls' College, made her school proud by attending the International Climate and Democracy Conference for Students organized by the KNH organization in Düsseldorf, Germany last September.

Three schoolgirls selected from Sri Lanka through Sri Lanka Unites, along with more than 20 schoolchildren from South Africa and Germany, were participating in the conference.
It is noteworthy that they had also participated in international school knowledge exchange events on climate held in Düsseldorf, Würzburg and the capital Berlin, Germany, for two weeks.

It is also noteworthy that our college student Natha was the only school student among over 50 participants selected to participate in the National Climate Conference held in Colombo in August this year.
It is also noteworthy that the climate and SDG mobile apps developed by Natha, who won the SLAASCOM award in 2023 and 2024, were very well received by school students in Germany.
